A popular beach in France has been shut off from the public as officials
scramble to decide what to do with a dead whale. Two days ago, the huge bloated
mammal washed up on the coast of Saintes-Marie-de-la-Mer, near Montpellier on
the Mediterranean coast in southern France.
Authorities also have closed the seaside resort of
Saintes-Marie-de-la-Mer. Road access to the whale has been blocked and the area
cordoned off to prevent people approaching or touching it.

experts believe that the whale is so
full of gas that it could and will explode at any time. There is a high chance
the carcass will self-explode. Authorities are now desperately trying to work
out the best way of getting rid of it. Now, French authorities are considering
using dynamite on the 15-ton carcass of a decaying beached whale to induce the
inevitable. Refers to the project manager of the national reserve of Camargue,
Anais Cheiron, told to the Midi Libre newspaper that The whale could be dragged
out to sea and detonated using dynamite.
This condition ever happened last
year. Graphic footage emerged of a whale exploding as a marine
biologist cut into its stomach.
French officials face a race against time to dispose of a beached whale, before
the carcass explodes with potentially fatal consequences
if anyone gets too close.
