Solo
City, Indonesia is to host the World Championship Military parachuting (WMPC)
2014 38th. This championship are organized by the military through KOMI
(Military Sports Committee of Indonesia) a military organization under military
exercise incorporated in CISM-International du Sport Militaire Conseile. CISM
is one of the international instruments as a forum for the interaction of 135
armed forces in the world.
The
military sports organization has a motto of "Friendship Through Sport''
and ''Game for Peace'' - From Positive Initiatives to Systemic Integrated
Programs". Therefore, the main purpose of this military exercise is
friendship and peace, and the promotion of sporting achievements. World
Championship are followed by 406 athletes from 42 countries and there are also
three observer countries, including Palestine, Myanmar and Cambodia.
WMPC
38th 2014 held at Manahan Stadium, and several other places in the city of
Solo. There are three categories in this championship are held at several
different locations, namely precision landing competition held at Manahan
Stadium and Sriwedari Stadium, freestyle race in South Square, and cooperation
in the air race formation (skydiving) centered at Air Base (airfield)
Adisumarmo.

This
event is held in Indonesia due to the bidding Among Morocco, South Korea,
Kazakhstan and Indonesia in the 68th CISM General Assembly and Congress in 2013
in Jakarta, Indonesia. In this bidding, the TNI was selected to host the 38th
CISM World Military Championship parachuting (WMPC) 2014, held in Solo, dated
September 17 to 27 by 2014.
The
participants parachuting championship is expected to enjoy the hospitality and
the comfort of the city of Solo. This is because Solo is one of the famous
tourist city with various Indonesian traditional culture. The participants of
this championship even greeted with a variety of indigenous Javanese culture as
carnival. This activity is also expected to show manifestations of Indonesia's
participation to promote world peace and security on a global level. According to
the report, the next WMPC 2015 will be held in the city of Mungyeong, South
Korea.
So
far, WMPC activities safely and smoothly. Atmosphere Solo also be more fun to
welcome the foreigner. Although, the show had been a delay due to strong winds
blowing up to 13 knots yesterday, but the championship will be continue soon
after the wind better.
